- We try to use china plates and stainless steel cutlery whenever possible. Where it is not possible we use compostable plates and wooden cutlery.
- We use paper cups, not foam or plastic
- All of the cooking oil is taken away for recycling
- We maintain the efficiency of our equipment and vehicles through regularly servicing and updating, to ensure we don't waste gas or power.
- Wherever possible we use Red Tractor meat and poultry, MSC Fish, organic fruit and vegetables
- We won't use 'single-serve' packed products, like jams, marmite, butter etc, to reduce packaging waste
- We only use Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar and other goods where possible.
- We try to use environmentally friendly and biodegradable detergents and cleaning products
- Recycling waste will be a priority, we will have mixed recycling (food, cardboard, plastics).
- We encourage having vegan and vegetarian days to reduce the meat consumption, therefore reducing our carbon footprint.
- To reduce food waste, we have a simple touch screen pre-ordering system to help us best judge what proportion of food to cook for the day. Crew simply press a button on the screen at breakfast.
- Open fridge policy - crew can bring a container in to be filled, free of charge, with service quality, leftover food to reduce food waste at the end of service.
We regularly update our Green policy to ensure we are up-to-date with any further measures we could take to reduce our carbon footprint.
